PREMISE
From the ashes of war, a new magical Britain is thriving under the careful and sure hand of Minister Kingsley Shacklebolt. Voldemort has been defeated, his power shattered and his followers driven underground. Once more, "The Boy Who Lived" vanquished the Dark Lord, casting the final spell that destroyed his evil powers for good. Yet, in all things there is a price to be paid - sometimes known, sometimes left unsaid.
For the last 9 years the wizarding world has recovered from some of its bleakest of days. The world is roughly at peace and the great wizarding nations are once again in communication and cooperation. That is not to say there is no dark, for it still lingers at the edges. Yet, to the common witch and wizard, life is good - the days are bright, and all seems well again. Under Shacklebolt, a sense of trust and honesty has been returned to the Ministry. New laws have been passed to protect those who were barely even acknowledged in the past, and stricter measures have been implemented to prevent another Tom Riddle from slipping through the cracks again.
With the reorganization of the Ministry, much of what was hidden during the years under Minister Fudge and Minister Scrimgeour had been brought to light. In the outrage amongst the wizarding populace that followed, a new Directorate over certain ministry affairs has been created to ensure that a Minister can no longer keep grave secrets from the wizarding community at large. New technologies have been introduced into the wizarding world, taking their influence from the muggle world. With this, the thin veil that exists between the magical and muggle worlds is hardly noticed.
Not since the end of the Muggle World War II has the magical world felt such tranquility. Of late, however, strange things have come to pass. Most claim it is only jumping at shadows and others claim it is the Dark Lord issuing his power from beyond the grave. The Ministry is not saying much, though there are groups within who are preparing - for what they do not know, but they intend on being ready.
The wizarding world may soon be in need of those willing to take a stand for what is right. Will it be you? Or maybe you linger among the dark, waiting for your chance to rise to power - perhaps now is that time. The only question left to you is.....
